Enhancing PV Self-Consumption Within an Energy Community Using MILP-Based P2P Trading

The high penetration of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) into the demand side has led to an increase in number consumers becoming prosumers. Recently, Peer-to-Peer (P2P) energy trading gained increased popularity as it is considered effective approach for managing DERs and offering local market solutions. This paper presents a P2P Management System (EMS) that aims reduce absolute net exchange with utility by exploiting two days-ahead forecast allowing surplus among Mixed-Integer Linear Programming (MILP) used schedule day-ahead household battery other proposed system tested using measured data community six houses located London, UK. EMS enhanced independency reducing exchanged utility. results show reduced operating costs up 18.8% when operated part over four months compared individually. In addition, community’s total nearly 25.4% previous state-of-the-art management method.
